Scouse Bird Problems – Circle Of Fab 2015: Aintree Ladies Day

Despite the paps being warned that they need to pack it in looking for unflattering shots of the ladies at Aintree Ladies Day this year, the usual culprits *coughs* Daily Mail *coughs* still made a beeline for the kind of photos that make Liverpool look bad. You could argue that the pictures can’t be taken if the subjects aren’t there but anyone who’s been to Aintree knows that the people looking a state are well and truly in the minority and in reality it’s a young, fun, vibrant fashion parade. Even the girl in the red dress with the thigh split who the paps are offering up as a sacrificial lamb this year actually looked quite good in real life, I know, I saw her.

Here’s my pick of the best dressed at Ladies Day yesterday and thank you so much to the fab people at Outfit Fashion (I mean these are the people of Topshop & Miss Selfridge collections so they know their stuff) for getting behind Circle Of Fab 2015 – it’s great to have a huge brand behind the ladies of Liverpool and our wonderfully diverse style. This is what Aintee really looks like…

Jessica Webb (The Fazenda champagne breakfast winner) taking her Mum, Dad & fella out to ladies day for her Mum’s birthday. That’s 2 generations of fab right there.

Georgia & Sophie enjoying some champagne in the sun before heading up to Aintree for a flutter. Don’t they look gorgeous?

Hayley celebrating the arrival of spring in her bright colours and floral dress. Dress is available from ASOS

I didn’t pick a single winning horse but I had to grab Emma as she rushed past me as she looked so good. She ended up coming second in the Best Dressed competition and it’s not hard to see why. She went all the way to New York looking for a dress for ladies day but in the end settled on this gorgeous ASOS number.

How fit is this group of mates? L-R Gill wearing Hybrid, Louise wearing Lipsy & ASOS and Emma wearing Hybrid

Hannah showing that doing cleavage doesn’t need to be trashy – she looks gorgeous in the red dress, yet another one from ASOS!

I saw quite a few girls wearing this AX Paris dress – it’s totally spot on for the races. I thought Jess wore it best with her yellow shoes and custom made fascinator from local desginer Maxines Feathers

You think Ladies Day and you automatically think dress right? I loved that Amy dared to be different in this two piece trouser suit. Outfit and bag from Miss Guided & Tesco. Hat from Topshop!

Steph’s dress went down a storm on Instagram, everyone was dying to know where it’s from. This lilac floral beauty is from ASOS yet again (ASOS cleaned up this year!), I love the way scuba material gives great structure and is SOOOO flattering on. The lady in the background looks great too… personally not too sure about the kitten heels though [monkey covering eyes emoji]

Jackie looks fab in pale nude and black – a different take on monochrome. Dress is John Lewis and shoes and bag from Vivienne Westwood

Lisa Marie and Brian make an uber-chic couple. Lisa Marie went head to toe designer in Victoria Beckham and Chanel

Got to hand it to the fellas, it’s not all lads in dads suits or insufferable hipsters with 3 foot beards – Lee got the dapper balance just right. The circle of fab ain’t just for the girls!

Charlotte looks stunning in her white Zara pantsuit & Chanel and her friend Joseph looks fab in his Reiss jacket and bright trousers. Love it!

I loved Gemma’s mirrored aviators, I was trying to convince my fella into getting her to sell me them! If you see this Gemma, where are they from?? Dress from Closet

Boxer Paul Smith and his little Stylish Scouser in the making doing dad’n’lad fashion. So cute!!

I haven’t posted any picture of my dress this year (mainly because I’m fat and shattered after all the travelling I’ve been doing) but here’s this gorgeous ‘enchanted forest’ dress Mark Melia made me for this year. Thanks Mark – love you so much!

I can’t wait to do it all again next year now!

XOXO
