Scouse Bird Problems – The Warehouse Weekender

So I was set a challenge by Warehouse. Go into store and choose 10 items to create a capsule wardrobe for a weekend festival/holiday – 10 items including accessories, footwear etc. It’s not as easy as you’d think, I actually went to the till all made up with my selection only to be told I’d chosen 12 items. I got an A in GSCE Maths so I can work out the length of the side of a triangle using Pythagorus Theorum but apparently I’m unable to count to 10. Boss.

The festival I was given was Creamfields….I went with the optimistic approach of it hypothetically being sunny. Warehouse don’t stock wellies so come on sunshine, don’t let me down this year. Here’s the 3 outfits I created using only 10 items, all from Warehouse.

The neon floral and lace print dress is amazing, you can wear it  casually like this or with a pair of heels and a clutch for a night out. It’s glam and it’s colourful and it’s just so Liverpool. When the manager of the Liverpool  One Warehouse store first got that dress in she immediately called up head office asking for more. When head office asked why she said “Cos it’s really Scouse.” (I believe the technically term is Scouse as f**k). The denim jacket is a summer wardrobe staple and goes with pretty much anything, you know it’s summer when the denim jacket comes out. I put a couple of necklaces together as I love the layering look and the mirrored aviotors are a) a really nice fit and b) ideal for perving at fit lads. With the bag I went for a cross shoulder back as no one wants to feel encumbered by a large shopper or a clutch when they’ve come for a weekend of dancing – the tooling on this leather satchel crossover bag is just beautiful.

I love this top because the print is not only amazing but you can wear it zipped up or zipped down with a bikini underneath if it gets really hot (the bikini separates were the two items I had to put back out of my 12…oops). I’m really loving skorts at the moment as well as they have a handy camel toe hiding flap for us tall girls and also it kind of looks like you’re wearing a micro mini skirt whilst retaining your modesty. These black ones are really versatile and can be dressed up or down.

The 3rd outfit was a quick mix of the two, turning the neon dress into a top to go with the skorts. Simple right? So why am I always 10kgs over when I pack for holiday??!!

From today (13th May) Warehouse are launching their #WarehouseWeekender campaign with Grazia online and in store. Like me, Grazia have chosen a capsule wardrobe, perfect for a festival or a weekend away and you can now shop that online – if you follow that link you can also find out more information about how to WIN the Grazia weekend clothing edit, a Warehouse rucksack AND a weekender of your choice for you and a friend, which is just an amazing prize.

On 24th May Warehouse stores across the country including our very own Liverpool One will be hosting a Warehouse Weekender event where the first 50 customers can have a free pair of sunglasses which you’ll be able to customise yourself so it should be a great day! Exciting…..HELLO SUMMER, I SEE YOU!

XOXO
