Titanic Hotel Liverpool – A stay in the life… | Scouse Bird Blogs

One of the thing you should know about me is that I’m absolutely obsessed with the 1997 film Titanic. You name a situation and I can relate it to a Titanic quote: Taxi gone past you? “Wait *whistles frantically* wait! Come back!”, someone asks when was the last time you went the gym – “It’s been 84 years…”, someone who’s done a couple of sponsored posts on Instagram starts flashing around their new Givenchy clutch, “Urgh, new money.” Titanic is an evergreen film and its boss-ness knows no end. Therefore you can see what a huge oversight it’s been that we have a Titanic themed hotel (Titanic Hotel Liverpool.) on our doorstep and I haven’t yet been to stay – until this weekend that is.

When I say Titanic themed, you’ll be pleased to know the hotel is more of a nod to the ship of, well, titanic proportions rather than a novelty hotel. You won’t find porthole windows, lifeboat shaped beds or cardboard cut outs of Jack and Rose so if that’s what you’re after, you’re shit out of luck. What you will find is steel, rivets and the odd bit of rope. It’s all very tastefully done.

The room we stayed in at Titanic Hotel Liverpool is absolutely huge (titanic proportions some might say) and I believe that’s typical of all the rooms there. If you’re booking, try and get a dock side facing room because there’s nothing nicer in the morning than a fresh coffee (from the fancy in room coffee pod machine) and a sit in the window seat overlooking the dock and watching the canal boats go by.

The building opposite is basically derelict but that’s actually a massive plus point. I don’t know how or why, but the dereliction actually looks really picturesque and if it were turned into apartments and bars I think it would lose… something. At the moment the building opposite (the largest brick warehouse in Europe or something) is home to the Heritage Market and is famously featured A LOT in Peaky Blinders – both as a backdrop to 1900’s Birmingham but also home to the fiery dock scenes in the first couple of seasons. Titanic and Peaky Blinders fans will be in their element here.

As well as the gargantuan rooms they have an amazing restaurant and a ‘rum warehouse’ that can be hired out for events and actually features a replica Titanic staircase – you know which one I mean. The one where Rose meets Jack for the ‘real party’.

The restaurant food is amazing (Trigger warning: Don’t look at the below pictures unless you’re ready to be starving). From the starters right through to the dessert it’s the perfect mix of fancy presentation and realistic portions, so while your food will be proper insta worthy, you also won’t be hungry at the end of it. We ate from the brand new Spring menu.

The breakfast in the morning is absolutely unreal too (and on Sundays at least is served to a very convenient 11am). I have never had scrambled eggs like it and I can’t stop thinking about them. The service in the restaurant is impeccable – we had Cora with us (she’s not quite two) and they went over and above to make sure she was happy and had plenty of attention lavished on her. We stayed for Easter weekend and the little chocolate egg gift boxes went down very well with her indeed.

The only thing I was disappointed with was that the car park has recently changed to a paying one and in the past it was free. It would be nice if hotel residents could park for free and just the general public pay but it was only £5 overnight so it’s not going to massively break the bank.

They do have an amazing spa facility too but I didn’t use that on this occasion. Next time though. I suspect there’ll be a next time. I’ll never let go…
