Imagine a restaurant that served nothing but desserts – sounds amazing right? Well thanks to Haute Dolci (the latest member of the dessert only restaurant group) you don’t have to imagine any more, you can go and experience it for realsies. As long as you have a key of course.
That’s right, to access this mecca of sugar and chocolate and gorgeous-ness you need to be the lucky holder of a golden key. No key, no entry. Sorry.
That is at least for the first 6 weeks, after that you can freely enter sans key, but not to fear keyholders, you’ll still be super special; the key will give you access to a super secret menu.
How do you get a key?
Well… Haute Dolci were hiding keys all over the North West in the run up to the launch and had butlers legging it round Chester city centre handing out keys on silver platters, so if you weren’t lucky enough to get one then get in touch with Haute Dolci to see if you can bag one. There are still keys hidden around Cheshire oaks, Chester and Ellesmere Port. They also have 10 keys available daily at the customer services in the Coliseum shopping park. Elderly people and mothers with kids during the daytime will be given keys at the door. They are also posting keys out to people out of town who DM them on social media
What’s on the menu?
Well, dessert obviously. As for specifics, the list is ridiculously long. I felt stressed deciding what to order (and of course, we all know that stressed spelt backwards is desserts).
You’ll find:
- American Waffles
- Belgian Waffles
- Crepes
- Puddings
- Cakes
- Milkshakes
- Melt in the middle cookie dough
- Gelato
- Shots of melted chocolate (they actually have running taps of white and milk chocolate…. water is soooo 2017)
Within these you’ll find lashings of scarlet strawberries, nutella, melted chocolate sauce, chopped nuts, fresh berries – am I turning you on?
What did you order Steph?
To be honest I’m the real OG Greedy Bish, so we ordered a little bit of everything. Some highlights that I’d thoroughly recommend are:
Monkey business milkshake – think banana and the most amazing tasting toffee sauce you’ve ever come across in your life.
The best of both cookie dough – cookie dough with scarlet strawberries and little jugs of both white and milk chocolate for your pouring pleasure.
I’ll have what he’s having waffles – In homage to the famous When Harry Met Sally line then waffles covered in white chocolate, coconut ice cream and strawberries will have you mouthgasming all over the gaff. (The I’ll have what She’s having comes with milk chocolate)
Chocolate shots – They sound sickly but they’re not and I promise you’ll regret it if you don’t have one.
Nutella Crepes – He’s just nutella, she’s just a crepe, can I make it anymore obvious? With chocolate sauce, nuts and hazelnut ice cream of course.
Where is it?
Haute Dolci is in The Coliseum in Cheshire Oaks, designer bargains and designer desserts, what more could you want from a day out?
