Scouse Bird Problems – Echo Arena: Ellie Goulding

“I’m not quitting music, Ive come too far for that” tweeted Ellie Gouding yesterday.

And she really has. From her delicate rendition of your song as the (mums favourite) John Lewis Christmas advert in 2010, to polished pop star, filling arenas with thumping bass. If one was to believe the rumours, or The Sun, (yeah right) poor old Ellie Goulding is to be found in a state of fragile fatigue following her split from boyfriend of two years, Dougie Pointer. Oh my God, she hides it well, and like a little healthy ray of energy in hotpants and DM’s, she played a blinder at last night’s Echo Arena venue of her 2016 tour.

Even during her most energetic tunes, her ethereal tones shone through. That voice, suited perfectly to electro folk, translated beautifully to her crowd pleasing, pop princess chart toppers such as Burn and Anything Could Happen

And her dancing sure didn’t look depressed either. Jumping about like a happy pixie, before slowing down to show off some impressive drumming and guitar skills. Meanwhile the crowd seemed positively joyful as they lapped up her hits, Army and How Long Will I Love You, joining in as her vocals reverberated from the packed out venue.

Nope, nothing to see here, heartbreak wise.

And I’ve a sneaky feeling it’ll be the same story for the rest of her tour…

XOXO
