Just before Christmas I went to try out an Infrared Sauna Spa. What’s one of them when it’s at home I hear you ask! Well, as the name suggests, it’s a spa founded in infrared technology. These spas are all the rage in L.A. at the moment and of course London has them – and now we do too. With one notable difference: the price.
The benefits of infrared sauna spas (which I’ll explain in a mo, just hang on, gizza sec) are massive and in the likes of L.A. and London you’ll see a massive price tag too – on average about £60 for a 15 minute treatment. Not in Liverpool though, we’re far more realistic and down to earth.
Infrared Sauna Spa Liverpool has one branch in the north of the city (Walton Vale) and one in the south (Childwall). There are several treatments available (the infrared light can be altered to treat different areas) but all of them involve sitting in an individual sauna for your allotted time. We all know the benefits of steam saunas for clearing skin but infrared takes it to the next level – there’s no steam, it’s all done via light which means it can penetrate deeper into the skin. It can even be used to treat muscle problems. The lack of humidity in the sauna means you can take your phone in too and text away to your hearts content while you’re sitting off loving life and getting clear skin.

The package I tried was the skin clearing package and it’s an absolute bargain by any spa standards are only £18 for a half an hour treatment. That’s even before you’ve taken into account that they give you full size pots of dead sea mud masks, Himalayan bath salts and Himalayan scrub to take home and use at your leisure. I tend to face mask at least once a week and I have absolutely tons left – a little goes a long way. My skin has honestly been fabulous since visiting – I haven’t had any blackheads to squeeze. It’s a little boring tbh.

So while we already know we dress better, make up better, be funny better and love Corbyn better than our fair capital – the cost of living and more importantly the cost of living fabulously, is much lower up here in Liverpool – The Best City In The World™
