In a few short weeks The Gin Festival returns to Liverpool for the 4th year running! Taking place in Lucians Crypt in the Met Cathedral, despite them adding 4 different sessions the event is already sold out (those desperate for tickets can sign up to the waiting list on Eventbrite in case anyone returns them… but it’s gin, why would you?).

To celebrate, the lovely people at The Gin Festival have put together some delicious and dead easy cocktail recipes featuring gins that go beyond the bottle of Gordons you can pick up down The Asda. Basically all these gins are a little bit special. Open your mind and say “chin chin” to gin this weekend. Get ready to want to get bevvied…

Edinburgh Rhubarb Twist

A twist on a Rhubarb Triangle – replacing rhubarb liqueur with Edinburgh Rhubarb – Buy Here

1 ½ shots Edinburgh Rhubarb½ shot dry vermouth

1 shot apple juice

Shake with ice and fine strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a slice of apple.

Ginfused Royale

Ginfused Strawberry and Mint – Buy Here (exclusively available from The Gin Festival)

2 shots Ginfused
Prosecco

Pour gin into chilled champagne flutes and top with prosecco. Garnish with a fresh strawberry

Whitley Neill

1 shot of Whitley Neill Gin1 shot of triple sec2 and a 1/2 shots of orange juice

Topped with soda

Build over ice in a sling glass. Garnish with mint and grapefruit.

Grapefruit Gimlet

2 shots Brockmans1 shot pink grapefruit juicesqueeze of lime

dash of sugar syrup

Shake over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass with a salted rim. Garnish with a twist of lime.

The Jungle Remedy

2 shots Pinkster1 shot lemongrass cordial½ shot lime juice

5 fresh basil leaves

Shake and double strain into an ice filled rocks glass. Garnish with a sprig of basil.
