A Family Day Out At Madame Tussauds Blackpool

What do you think of when you think of Blackpool? Bars of rock? The illuminations? The Big One? The Tower? The beach? The arcades? Everytime I go to London the queue for Madame Tussauds is massive unless you book in advance but guys, we have one right on our doorstep in sunny (sometimes) Blackpool.

Madame Tussauds is a gold standard for wax figures of famous faces, so we decided it was high time we go and fully immerse ourselves in the world of celebrity, rub shoulders with the people we only see on TV without even needing to attend a single audition or apply for a reality TV show ourselves.

Madame Tussauds Blackpool has been open since 2011 and it is the world famous Madame Tussauds we all know and love.

The first thing I can tell you about Madame Tussauds Blackpool is that you get a lot for your money. It’s £18.00 entry for adults and you can honestly spend hours in there.  Just when you think you’re coming to the end of the attraction, you turn the corner and there’s a whole other section. We went into the Sporting Heroes area which has sporting legends and interactive games; we were expecting to come out into the gift shop but instead there was a whole MARVEL SUPER HEROES area, a hall of mirrors and an avenue of our fave comedians to get through first.

There are also opportunities to cosy up to Simon Cowell on the couch and pose with Cheryl and then toddle over to speak to Paddy McGuiness on Take Me Out. You can even enter your name on the Take Me Out board so you can fully immerse yourself in the ‘PEW PEW PEW’ dating game – let the bun see the hotdog and all that! You can meander through I’m A Celeb, meet Olympian Champions, spy on Stevie G in the locker room, run your fingers through Russell Brand’s hair (if you dare) and mock Gok Wan’s horrendous styling opinions. You can even cosy up to David Attenborough and tell him how you’re getting on with saving the turtles. There’s even a fully licensed Rover’s Return where you can have a pint pulled by Bet Lynch and any attraction that has a fully licensed pub inside is a winner with me!

There’s even an arcade halfway through (just before the MARVEL SUPER HEROES AREA) where you could challenge each other to a game of ‘that thing on the wall where you have to press lights as quickly as possible but I have no idea what it’s actually called‘ or play video games. Then it’s back in to the main attraction where you can pretend to be the hulk and lift up a a taxi – there are 4 zones with all your favourite Marvel figures from the films.

I loved it, my husband loved it and Cora loved it and it would be an amazing place to go back to on a girly weekend or even to do something a bit different on a date. Well worth the entrance fee and well worth the trip up the motorway. It’s even right facing the beach so you can make a day of it. Sometimes you just need a bit of fun and vibrance in your life and Blackpool and Madame Tussauds Blackpool is there to deliver in the best way possible.
