The manager of Liverpool One’s Palm Sugar has told the public the name doesn’t refer to masturbation

The owner of Palm Sugar in Liverpool One has today released a statement to assure potential customers that the bar/lounge’s name is not a reference to self-love.

“It has come to our attention that people feel the name of our bar relates to the act of ‘the Low Five’”, suggested Paul Sucre, CEO.

“Though it is true we serve Hand Shandies (Lager and lemonade, poured by hand), we do not intend for our bar to conjure up images of the 5 knuckle shuffle”.

This isn’t the first bar in Liverpool to suffer from associations of innuendo, to which The Tube on Mathew St. and The Peacock on Seel St. can attest.

This article is not approved by Palm Sugar who would like us to point out that this is a farcical, satirial article with no basis in fact whatsoever 👍
