We stopped off in Milan for a quick breakfast before heading back to Pisa. I say breakfast, it ended up being an Aperol Spritzer because we found an amazing bar overlooking the cathedral. I wish we’d had a little more time here to experience the world famous shopping but that’s a trip for another day.
The thing is, with visiting Italy in the height of the summer, it’s also Italian summer holidays and everywhere is soooo quiet. Loads of places are closed, believe it or not.
Quiet or not, you can’t take a thing away from the beauty of that iconic gothic cathedral.
